
The Nap Nanny, a portable recliner designed for babies to sleep, relax and play, has issued a voluntary recall. The 30,000 Nap Nannys subject to the recall were sold at toy and children’s retail stores nationwide and online from January 2009 through July 2010.
If you own a Nap Nanny, purchased before August 15, 2009, please follow this link to register for an $80 coupon valid towards the purchase of a new Nap Nanny with free shipping. These “first generation” Nap Nannys can be identified by the absence Velcro straps inside the cover securing the cover to the foam base.
If you’re Nap Nanny was purchased after August 15, 2009, the company is asking families to stop use of their Nap Nanny until they view their informational video explaining the proper use of their product along with information on the hazards of improper use.
We want to assure our customers the Nap Nannys we have in stock at Bellani are part of the ones produced after August 15, 2009 and which have the additional safety feature of Velcro straps for securing the outer cover to the inner foam base. We encourage anyone with a Nap Nanny or considering purchasing one, to use the product in the manner suggested by the manufacturer. Parents should always avoid use of the Nap Nanny anywhere other than the floor. The Nap Nanny is not designed to be used inside of other baby equipment (cribs, play yards, etc.).
