Well, they really aren't lying. Sucralose is not a "flavoring" according to the FDA, it's a sweetener and/or ingredient. Don't count on any foods listed with no artificial flavors to be without artificial sweeteners! We try very hard to avoid art. flavors, art. colors, art. sweeteners, HFCS and anything hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated and the only real way to do that is look at the ingredients each time.

of course I had to look that up...it is the Chlorine atom...the same that's found in table salt. "it is abundant in nature and necessary to most forms of life, including humans. "it is abundant in nature and necessary to most forms of life, including humans", so I don't think its like freshening up your drink with a good old batch of Clorox! lol Still probably not something we'd want to be drinking. Dang it..diet coke with splenda!

You're right Jennifer...they replace a -CH3 (methyl) group with chlorine on the sugar molecule.

I see this a lot. There is a "no sugar added" applesauce, only to have found "sweetened with splenda". I was so mad. In the Capri case....technically it says: no artificial colors or flavors. I guess they didn't say 'artificial sweeteners' although in my book, that IS an artificial flavor. Its just semantics with those company's. It happens A LOT!
